The Golden Age of British Airliners

In the second half of the twentieth century, the United Kingdom produced some of world’s most outstanding airliners. Not all were commercially successful but some, including the Vickers Viscount were world-beaters which sold in the hundreds.  Virtually all of them, however, were outstanding designs and many introduced groundbreaking new ideas.  A handful have become iconic symbols of a different age in which the journey could be as important as the destination itself. This new book celebrates a half century of brilliant design and outstanding engineering.
